Tall Seven Piece Hand Carved Chinese Fisherman
Made possibly of boxwood or rosewood, seven pieces include fisherman, his hat, his pole, two buckets and two small fish. He's holding a larger fish. This piece is 21 inches high and is 20 inches wide from bucket to bucket. He weighs 8 pounds, 14 ounces. The base is 5 inches across and has two holes, which is typical for this piece. There is also some cracking on the base, which is also typical, and may be due to age or cracked when carved. (see photo #5). The pole is made of a different wood and slides through his hand and so it's a little scuffed. There's also a small scratch on the left little pot. Pots are tied to the pole by thin wires. This is a lustrous dark wood piece, will definitely get noticed.
