The male is marked "Made in Japan" and the female is marked "Handpainted Made in Occupied Japan". The greater part of the value in this set is in the female. She is the most rare and best crafted piece of the two. The male has color runs on the back of his cape. Neither piece is damaged, but the female is in excellent condition. Since they are both tall figurines, which is hard to find, both made at least before 1960, both playing the mandolin, I have decided to sell them as a set.
