Antique LeMaire Paris Opera Glasses w/ Leather Case
This is the genuine article. LeMaire Paris opera glasses. Made in the late 19th century in France. Brass and Mother of Pearl. Included is the original black leather case with purple sateen lining. The case shows wear and the seams on the side are splitting. The glasses still fit in the case and the case clicks shut. This was kept in a lady's handbag. In fact, the case still smells of perfume. The purple lining is in very good condition for its age. The opera glasses have been tested and work great. The brass shows some wear, appropriate with age. This is an antique piece and has been used for its intended purpose. The glasses stand 2 inches tall and are 3.5 inches across. The case is about 2.75 inches tall and 4 inches across. The case and glasses weigh a combined 7 ounces.
