Shell Famous Americans Coin-Collecting Game -- 21 Coins
In the 1960 era, the Shell Oil Co. had a few coin-collecting games. Aluminum coins could be collected and redeemed for merchandise, given the right set of coins. Here are 21 of the Famous American coins. On one side is the famous American, his claim to fame (e.g. inventor, frontiersman, etc.) and birth and death dates. On the reverse is the Shell logo and the words Famous American Coin Game. In this group are coins for Benjamin Franklin, Thomas Edison, Abraham Lincoln, George Washington, Davy Crockett and Albert Einstein--to name a few. These coins are in excellent condition, are about the size of a quarter and weigh a combined 1.3 ounce.
