In the early to mid 1970s there was an effort to turn the American public and American industries to the metric system. These metric flash cards, made in 1976, are a relic of that time. Published by Binney & Smith (the Crayola crayon people), metric flash cards include boxes of cards for weight, volume and length. Each of the three individual boxes has 36 flash cards and an instruction booklet. One box contains a small book titled "Metrics Made Easy". Another has a "liter box" and the third has a "metric stick". The cards and the individual boxes are in perfect condition. The outer box is a little frayed at the edges, but not too badly frayed. Programmed for beginners, this set would be fun for introducing the metric system to kids. The outer box measures 7.5 inches high and 6.5 inches wide. The whole boxed set weighs 1 pound, 12 ounces.
